I received my first
scoot at the age of 9 or 10. Since then I have had
many metric bikes in all different sizes. My wife thought it was time for us to get our first scoot
together. We decided to go look at the 2001 Fatboy
at Ft. Lauderdale Harley Davidson but went a whole new
route when we seen the nostalgic look of the Heritage
Springer. Once we Sporting big, full-skirted metal fenders, fringe-laden bags and that classic Springer front end, this bike comes straight out of 1948 -- the Panhead's first year and the last for a factory Springer set-up. Created by the Motor Company in small numbers which makes it a real collectable bike with only 6,600 units made. Although it is a collectable, I ride it every day unless horrible weather is imminent or I have things to do that only can be done in our Land Rover or on foot. |
